Tomaga Hill Cottage B&B
Family and Pet Friendly bed and breakfast accommodation
<br/>Baby Wombat
Dennis the Baby Wombat
As animal lovers ourselves, we welcome guests who would like to bring along the WHOLE family, including their special companion. That's why we made sure our pet friendly accommodation includes dog friendly accommodation and pets are allowed.
Peg is our Staffy/Bully/Kelpie cross who we rescued from the vet after she had been brought in with a broken hip from a motor vehicle accident. The vet put a pin in it but the damage was too severe so consequently she walks with a limp and a "peg leg". She has the most beautiful nature and loves to welcome all dogs/cats/chooks/wombats and possums that arrive at Tomaga Hill.

We started raising orphaned wombats for Birdland at Batemans Bay about 8 years ago. We have had many and they stay here till they become too feisty and 'wombat-like' then we send them on to Birdland to be "toughened up" ready to be returned to the wild.
We like to do only one at a time as they are very time consuming and become part of our family. It's very sad when we have to say goodbye but at least we know that they are happy and healthy when we send them off....we usually like a break before the next one arrives as it's nice to get our lives back a bit too. It's very like having a baby or toddler in the house.

In addition to the walks in the bushland adjacent to the cottage, Tomaga Hill is located very near beautiful Tomakin Beach with its pet friendly and off-leash dog friendly 24 hours a day beach. Tomaga Hill is also close to the pet friendly Barlings Beach and rock pools, Tomago River reserve, Corrigans & Sunshine Bay beaches.

Frequently asked questions:

We're pet friendly but unfortunately we don't have a pet proof fence, although the deck area has a railing that would serve to contain most dogs. The deck is approximately 3m by 5m.

We allow pets all year round and the dogs must be well trained.

Also guests pets must have a vaccination certificate, have been recently wormed and are warned that their dog should have been "frontlined" or similar as this is a tick area. We're unable to take any responsibility for tick/snake/spider bite (we're "in the bush" after all).
Pets
should be closely monitored at all times because all the aforementioned, although unlikely, are not beyond the bounds of possibility [Also, "poo removal" from the grounds surrounding the accommodation is the owner's responsibility].

We allow dogs & cats  inside the cottage [but please not in the bedrooms].

We also accept cats (only ever had one cat come to stay).

Beautiful Tomakin beach, is around a kilometre in length and is unique as it is a dedicated off leash pet friendly beach all day every day, which is great for the dog lover and holiday maker.
Tomakin Beach leads to the mouth of the Tomago River from where you can follow the river upstream - a beautiful walk for you and your pet. Tomakin also boasts Barlings surf beach and Tomakin Cove,  plus there are many more bush walking trails near Tomaga Hill B&B Cottage for you and your pet to enjoy the fresh air and open spaces.
Afterwards, you will be made welcome for brunch or lunch to enjoy fish and chips at By The Beach Bakery Cafe [pet friendly] at Mosquito Bay, where your dog is welcome to sit with you in the alfresco table area overlooking the ocean. The Muffin Shop at Mossy Point or the Tomakin General Store also has outdoor tables and your pet can also sit with you while you have a healthy breakfast or lunch.

Pet Friendly Travel Tips:
To make your pet friendly holiday as comfortable as possible, it is always a good idea to take any special bedding and toys that your pet may be used to. Also, ensure that your dog has an ID tag with your name and phone number in case you are accidentally separated.
While we allow pets inside the cottage, we'd appreciate if you could keep them off the furniture.
Since the cottage is the only building [apart from our house] on our 40 acre property, noise shouldn't be a problem.
